Eva K. Abbott

Eva K. Abbott,100, of Jamestown, peacefully gained her wings on Wednesday March 26th, 2025, at the Heritage Village Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Gerry, NY.

Eva was born January 30th, 1925, in Salamanca, NY and was a graduate of Salamanca High School. She spent her adult life residing in Jamestown where she was a dedicated homemaker, wife to Harry C. Abbott whom she married on January 30th, 1946, and mother of five.

Eva loved spending time with her family, including having her grandchildren over for sleepovers and cooking brownies, her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also, among her favorite activities, were eating out at various restaurants, taking long car rides, holiday family gatherings, pouring ceramics, gardening and sitting by the lake with an ice cream cone. She was a long-time member of the United Pilgrim Memorial Congregational Church.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert A. and Margaret (Neudeck) Morton; her beloved husband, Harry C. Abbott; two brothers, Gilbert and Robert Morton; a sister, Margaret “Peggy” Blumquist; and great-grandson, Carson B. Hiller.

She is survived by her five children; Patricia (Bill) Hazenberg of Jamestown, Michael Abbott of Jamestown, Paula Risberg of Naples, NY, James (Renee) Abbott of Falconer, Nancy (John) McGuire of Celeron; Thirteen grandchildren: Leslie (Timothy) Flihan, Christine (Debbie) Dalziel, Andrew (Jessica) Hazenberg, Heidi Abbott-Walker, Heather Newman, Eric Risberg, Nicky (Matt) LaRocca, Christopher Morton, Jessica Abbott, Jamie (Vincent) Parasiliti, Matthew (Sarah) Jones, Robert (Darci) Jones, Kyle Moffett; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received by the family Tuesday, April1st at Falconer Funeral Home from 1pm to 2pm. Services will be held at 2pm. Pastor Lee Croft Clark, Chaplain of Heritage Ministries will officiate. The burial will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
