Diane R. Prusik

Diane R. Prusik
Diane R. Prusik, 72, of Lakewood, passed away peacefully at home following a valiant two-year battle with leukemia on Thursday, March 20, 2025. She was born in Jamestown on September 28, 1952, to the late Walter and Marion Bucklin Prusik.
Diane was a JHS Class of 1970 graduate, still possessing the clarinet she played in band all those years ago. Following graduation, Diane became the secretary to the vice president at Blackstone, where she succeeded for 7 years.
In 1977, Diane’s nearly 50-year career with the Davidson family took hold. Hired to execute payroll and bookkeeping, Diane’s relationship with the family became familial, assisting at Ashville Bay Marina, which Bob Davidson owned; being a guest on vacation with Margaret and Bob; babysitting for Ron and Linda Davidson; and becoming a staple at the restaurant through waitressing. She loved the untold number of guests she served over the years as well as everyone she encountered at her Davidson’s family.
Diane was revered by her Davidson’s family. She will be missed deeply by everyone.
To know Diane was to love her intentional spirit. Her lifelong membership at Kidder Memorial Global Methodist Church guided her every action. From being baptized and confirmed at Kidder to bookkeeping up until her last days, she was devoted to serving the Lord.
Beloved by absolutely everyone, Diane never missed a holiday or an occasion. She never sent just a card but mailed a box of meaningful goods to family and friends. In fact, she was a staple at the Lakewood Post Office thanks to her frequent trips.
The YMCA called Diane a member for 50 years where, naturally, she served as an assistant to the physical director and entered the downtown location with routine regularity.
Diane was a notary all her life. Truly, she lived to help others in any way she could.
In later years, Diane took care of her mom and dad daily. She did not let a day go by without visiting her dad; in fact, she was a smiling like-home face to all the residents.
Animals received the compassion Diane exuded as well. She adored her cats and offered nourishment to any animal that showed up in her backyard, be it deer or birds alike.
Diane’s miraculously deliberate heart and mind will be forever treasured by her brother, Gary (Anne Ohlson) Prusik of Anthony, NM; her sister, Janet (Brian Elford) Urbanick, of Deltona, FL; her nieces, Fawn Feather Carr and Ravenflower Carr Dugandzic; her great-nieces, Phoenix and Journey Dugandzic; and her closest friends and watchful neighbor, Scott Sanders.
The funeral service for Diane will be at 11am on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Kidder Memorial Global Methodist Church. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation for one hour prior to the service from 10-11am Thursday, March 27, at the church. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kidder Memorial Global Methodist Church, 381 S Main Street, Jamestown, NY 14701.
