With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Diane C. Russ, who left this world on February 28, 2025, at the age of 82 in Lakewood, NY.
She was born April 13, 1942, in Erie, PA, the daughter of the late Herbert and Edna Anderson Tompkins.
Diane was a 1960 graduate of Jamestown High School and a longtime member of Zion Covenant Church. She was a claims representative with State Farm Insurance prior to retirement.
Diane was known for her kind heart and unmistakable laugh. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as traveling, including her many trips to Florida and Colorado. Diane also enjoyed outings and playing cards with her many friends at Connect 55 in recent years.
Surviving are her children John (Anna) Horsley of Montrose, CO, James Horsley of Edwards, CO and Linda Holtby of Warren, PA; her four grandchildren: Christopher Holtby, Monica Day, Marisa Day, and Erica Day.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Russ.
Per her wishes no visitation or service will be observed.
Memorials may be made to the Lakewood Fire Department or an organization of your choice in her name.
