Carol L. Williams

Carol L. Williams
Carol L. Williams, 92, formerly of 25 Case Avenue, Lakewood, NY, died March 19, 2024, in Buffalo Mercy Hospital following a brief illness.
Carol was born May 8, 1932, in Falconer, NY, the daughter of the late Everett and Florence Evelyn Hale, and graduated from Falconer Central School and Jamestown Business College. Prior to retirement she worked as a secretary for American Manufacturing Concern (Fancher Chair) and Williams Fabricating, and was a bus driver for 21 years for the Southwestern Central School District. She was a member of Kiantone Congregational Church.
Carol enjoyed embroidering and gardening and watching and feeding the birds. She enjoyed spending winters down south in Texas and Florida with her beloved partner, John “Jack” McMaster, who passed away in 2013. Always one to be active, Carol was a keen bowler, being named WIBC league champion for 4 years and was an avid roller skater in previous years. Even though activity became more difficult as she got older, she could still be seen mowing her lawn at the age of 88!
Sports was her big love, having grown up on Jamestown Falcons baseball games, and was a big fan of the New York Yankees and Syracuse University basketball. She also enjoyed high school wrestling, having driven bus for the Southwestern team for several years. Carol also loved dogs, especially her and Jack’s dachshunds.
Carol will be remembered for her quiet way and gentle nature. Family gatherings meant the world to her, hosting Christmas Eve every year up until the age of 91. Even though the past few months presented her with many challenges, and daily living became more of a struggle, she never complained and was only ever thinking about those she loved. She was a loving mother and grandmother who always put her family first and her selfless heart will be sorely missed by her family.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Julie (Eric) Livengood and son Dana (Barbara) Williams, both of Jamestown, as well as her grandchildren Andrea (Pete) Jodko of Stamford, Connecticut; Reed (Britta) Livengood of Tega Cay, South Carolina; Laura (Patrick) Langworthy of Jamestown; Shelby (Jason) Pembridge of Lakewood; and Sydney Williams of Buffalo; and great-grandchildren Margot and Coco Livengood, Daisy Mae Langworthy, and Calvin Pembridge.
Besides her parents and Jack, Carol was preceded in death by sisters Viola Leach and Merrilyn Rolfe, and brothers Ellsworth and Emory Hale.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29th in the Lind Funeral Home, led by Rev. Melvin McGinnis. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery.
Carol’s family will receive friends at Lind’s from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service.
