Alfred Levi Bailey, 81, of Brookside Estates, Jamestown, Town of Carrol, entered his eternal home on Monday (February 24, 2025) at home with his family at his side, after an extended illness.
He was born August 12, 1943 in Albion, New York the son of the late Leo and Helen (Sanderson) Bailey. In his youth, he was fostered at the Randolph Children’s Home and then entered the United States Army, serving his country proudly from September 20, 1964 to July 12, 1970. He then went on to serve 20 years in the NYS National Guard.
Al retired from Philadelphia Furniture, and had also worked for Salamanca Lumber and Donver Lumber, Inc in Killbuck. He was a member of the Seneca Nation Fire Department in Jimersontown (Salamanca) where he was a Fireman and Fire Police. Earlier on he was a member of the Ishua Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Linda E. (Nichols) Bailey, whom she married on September 18, 1965 in the Napoli United Methodist Church, three daughters, Sharon Donaldson of Frewsburg, Cheryl (Darin) Fedick of Falconer and Susan (Roy) Wagoner) of Salamanca,.13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Shirley and Betty, a grandson Levi Fedick and a great grand-daughter Sophia Frank.
As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or services held. The VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph was entrusted with his care. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and will be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations in Alfred’s memory be sent to the Seneca Nation Fire Department or to any Veteran’s Group.
