Sandra J. Anderson (Beckstrom)
ASHVILLE – Sandra J. Anderson (Beckstrom), 85 of Ashville, New York, gracefully joined her late husband in heaven on February 21, 2025. She was surrounded and proudly fussed over by her large, loving family.
She was born in Bradford, PA on February 5, 1940.
Sandy married the love of her life, Harold W. Anderson, Sr. on Valentine’s Day in 1959 which undoubtably set the tone for their 64 years of marital devotion and love for one another.
Sandy worked alongside Harold at Anderson Radiator for many years. After her time at Anderson Radiator, Sandy went to work for Truck-Lite until her well-earned retirement, where she continued her unwavering support for her family and friends.
Sandy mastered the art of style, humor, and raising a family that would carry on her legacy of love and well-timed sarcasm. She lived by example raising her family to be devoted, loyal and funny. She had a way of delivering a one-liner that would leave family members saying, “Oh Mom” or “Oh Granny,” with laughter. Her love and devotion towards her family will forever be passed down for generations.
Her greatest joy was for her family. Sandy was always seen holding and spoiling every grandchild, great-grandchild, and even her great-great grandchildren. She will always be remembered for rocking each one of her grandbabies while singing “Grandma’s little teddy bear.”
Sandy had an eye for fashion and was always seen eloquently dressed, exuding grace. Her love of antique shopping with her husband carried into the creativeness of her home.
She also enjoyed playing card games with family and friends, a tradition she shared with her husband. These moments of joy, laughter, and connection were a testament to her love for spending time with those she held dear.
Sandy was welcomed into heaven by her late husband, Harold W. Anderson, Sr.; her parents Esther Wilcox and Robert Paul Beckstrom; her sisters, Joyce Ingrao, Elizabeth (Tiny) Dellahoy, Jacqueline Beckstrom; and her brother Robert Beckstrom.
She leaves behind a family who will forever carry her spirit: her children Deborah Smith (Don) of Ashville, NY; Laura Asel (Michael) of Ashville, NY; Harold Anderson, Jr. (Mel) of Sherman, NY; and Lynn Martin (Jeffrey) of Lake View, NY. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren; Deniese Buckingham; Stacey Asel; Tanya Beatman (Michael); Tiffany Babcock (Nate); Donna Norrod (Darrell); Casey Demarco (Vinny); Curtis Martin (Erica); Stephanie Asel and 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren who will no doubt continue to share her best stories and sass for generations to come. Sandy’s heartfelt sibling connection will live on in the hearts of Donnie Becktrom, Joann Acker, Maryanne Beler and Carol Lambert along with many nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please go buy your loved one a stylish outfit or piece of jewelry to be remembered by – as Sandy always knew, looking good never goes out of style.
