Providence Ann “Prudy” Calimeri Campbell

Providence Ann “Prudy” Calimeri Campbell

Providence Ann “Prudy” Calimeri Campbell, 85, of Jamestown, passed away suddenly following a brain aneurysm on Thursday, February 13, 2025. She was born in Jamestown on May 16, 1939, to the late Salvatore and Theresa Lombardi Calimeri.

Following high school graduation, Prudy occupied many years working at Jarrett Optical. She then found her joy in real estate, selling homes as an agent for Century 21.

An active woman in her younger years, Prudy spent many an evening roller skating in local rinks, while sunny seasons encouraged her hiking excursions. Camping was also a treasured pastime.

Prudy’s cooking and baking was frequent and plentiful. Her entire family reveled in the meals and treats made in her kitchen. The Buffalo Bills had Prudy’s fandom, keeping in line with her definer as a devout Western New Yorker.

Prudy and her best girlfriends, Angela and Patty, loved the endless hours they shared around card tables.

Prudy’s family-oriented soul swooned over her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Linda Ciancio Brown of Virginia, Karen Schulz of Jamestown, Cheryl (Mitchell) Stone of Jamestown, and Lisa Spaulding of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Scott (Leslie) Stone, Matthew (Danielle) Stone, Courtney (Brandon) Chandler, Zachary Brown, Sarah (Eddie Marunyak) Spaulding, Rachel (Logan) Lemcke, Emily (Andrew) Lamendola, Daniel (Sue) Stone, and Lynette (Chris) Hughes; along with her dozens of great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Prudy was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Campbell, who passed away in 2011; her granddaughter, Tara Schulz; sons-in-law, Rick Brown and Ron Schulz; and her sister, Ann Calimeri Leone.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Friday, February 21, 2025, at St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald Watkins will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2-4pm Thursday, February 20, 2025, in the Lind Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend their special gratitude to all the nurses who cared so passionately for Prudy. Truly, nurses are the backbone to healthcare, and their kind assistance throughout UPMC, Heritage Park, and Brookdale will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nursing Professional Development Fund at Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, 418 Spring Street, Jamestown, NY 14701.
