Norman F. Lewis
Norman F. Lewis, 74, of Frewsburg, passed away at UPMC Chautauqua from Alzheimer’s, and gained his wings with his loving family by his side on January 24, 2025. Norm was born January 4, 1951, in Jamestown, NY to Frank Lewis and Joyce Knowlton Albro.
Norman retired from Cummins Engine Plant after 36 years. After retirement, he spent the next six summers volunteering for Allegheny Highlands BSA, Camp Merz. Norm was the president and a member of the County Riders Motorcycle Club for many years, where he would ride his Honda Goldwing and stop for pie and coffee at many local restaurants and travel the East coast.
Norman was an avid sportsman. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone that needed help. His favorite times were spending time with his family either at a summer family picnic, breakfast, lunch, or a family meal around the table.
Norman served in the US Navy, and he was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 556. While stationed in Cuba, he fell in love with the Caribbean clear blue water. He traveled throughout the United States and many foreign countries. Norman shared his travel bug with his children and as his family grew up, he could not wait to hear about their adventures and see the pictures of their places of travel. Norman was so proud of his children and grandchildren and all their accomplishments.
Norman leaves behind the love of his life of 43 years, Christine Beebe Lewis of Frewsburg; his children, Jason (Susan) Lanphere of Benwheeler, TX, Cassandra (Frank York) Rogers of Mayville, NY, Stacey (Jamie) Eaton of Falconer, NY, James (Jenn) Lanphere of Brocton, NY, and Tammie (Andrew Peterson) Lewis of Falconer, NY; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Lewis of Jamestown.
In keeping with Norman’s wishes, no services or visitation will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Merz AHC, 50 Hough Hill Road, Falconer, NY 14733.
