Llon K. Bailes

A man who loved his Dominican culture, Llon graduated from high school and became a private pilot in the shadowing footsteps of his father. He enjoyed years of transporting cargo through the sky. His skills as a barber were truly top notch, as there was not a cut he couldn’t conquer.

Family remained the core of Llon’s liveliness. He loved caring for his wife in every facet and spoiled his grandchildren with endless compassion as his driving force. The stories he told knew no end, always enveloping tales of his piloting and adventuring.

Religion grounded Llon’s spirit. He was an active member of Asamblea De Iglesias Cristianas, Inc. in Jamestown for many years. Putting everyone before himself, Llon reveled in cooking for his family, being a master on the grill.

Llon leaves behind his wife of 21 years, Ana Vasquez Bailes; his children, Warly Lantigua, Francisco (Leslie) Lantigua, Alejandro (Glenys) Lantigua, and Paulette Bailes; grandchildren, Dontae, Shandra, Wanda, Yazmin, Alejandro, Jr., Mia, and Athena; siblings, Victor Bailes, Guillermo Bailes, Duke Bailes, Robert Bailes, William Bailes, Caroline Bailes, Cindy Bailes; and his best friend and brother with whom he was raised and who maintains their family land in the Dominican Republic to this day, Heriberto Perez.

Besides his parents, Llon was preceded in death by his brother, Julio Bailes.

The funeral service for Llon will be from 12:00pm – 2:00pm on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Asamblea De Iglesias Cristianas, Inc., 1159 N Main Street, Jamestown, NY 14701. Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery.
