Wade Stuart Morse

Farmington – Wade Stuart Morse, age 78, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025, with his family by his side.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary (Wolf) Morse; two children, Kyle (Rebecca) Morse and Ryan (Christin) Morse; four grandchildren, Calvin, Tessa, Vivian and Matthew; brother, Dale (Ilka) Morse; brothers-in-law, Daniel (Nancy) Wolf and Brian Wolf; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wade was born in Jamestown, NY and was the son of Kyle and Ruth (Schwobel) Morse. He attended Chautauqua Central School where he excelled at basketball and baseball, graduating in 1964. Wade earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations and an MBA, both from Cornell University. He served for three years in the US Army, reaching the rank of Sergeant in the 115th Military Intelligence Group stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco. After college, Wade taught accounting for three years at SUNY Geneseo, before returning to the family business, Whittier Apple Farm in Ashville, NY, which he operated until his retirement in 2014.

Wade was an active member of the Chautauqua County Farm Bureau and the Chautauqua Lake Commission. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and Native American history enthusiast.

Friends may call Saturday, January 11, from 2-4pm, at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. A celebration of life will be held in Chautauqua County in the spring at a date and time to be determined.
