Timothy M. “Mort” Johnson

Born April 13, 1956, in Jamestown, he was the son of the late Sherwood “Mort” and Donna Lewis Johnson.

He was a1974 graduate of Southwestern Central School, a 1976 graduate of Jamestown Community College and attended SUNY Fredonia.

Prior to his retirement in 2012, he was employed by the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 32 years. He estimated that he walked the equivalent of three times around the earth during his time spent on his routes.

Tim was a member and confirmand of the former Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Lakewood. He attained the level of Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, was an avid outdoorsman, hiker, kayaker, and fly fisherman. He had many friends from various backgrounds and was loved by all who knew him.

Surviving is his sister Marcia (Daniel) Nickerson of Orchard Park and a niece Jessica Nickerson of Orchard Park.

Mort will be especially missed by his lifelong friends that were like family to him.

The funeral will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2025 in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Timothy Hoyer will officiate.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 3-5 pm Monday in the funeral home, prior to the service.
