Salvatore Sabino
Salvatore “Sam” Sabino, 86, of Jamestown, NY passed away on his 86th birthday, Dec. 22, 2024. He was born in 1938 to Anthony and Maria Sabino in Jamestown, and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1956. He served in the United States Army from 1962-1964 and was stationed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn (married in 1968), his sons Mark (married to Jessica) and Samuel, his grandchildren Marissa (married to Francisco), Alexander, Chloe, Giovanni, and Alessandra, and his great-grandchildren Bryan, Natalia, and Nadia.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Nick, Pasquale “Pat”, and John, and his sister Mary.
Sam’s career spanned over 45 years as an agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He was an avid golfer and member of Jackson Valley and South Hills Golf Courses. He was very active at his church, St. James, and served his community as a member of the Parks & Recreation committee and as a volunteer at WCA hospital and various rehab facilities in Jamestown. He also frequently contributed Letters to the Editor in this paper.
Arrangements entrusted to Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home.
The family plans to hold a celebration of life on May 16 at Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral home in Jamestown.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on May 17 at St. James Church in Jamestown.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
