Mary Marie (Stevens) Weaver

Mary Marie (Stevens) Weaver, age 80, went to meet her Lord and Savior on January 5, 2025.

Mary was born to Hazel Wolf and Herbert Stevens on January 20, 1944 in Gearhartville, PA. She moved to Erie, PA as a teen after the death of her father, where she was raised by her brother George and his wife Helen (Nan) Stevens.

Mary graduated from Academy High School in 1961. She attended the Hamot Hospital School of Nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1964. Mary married Jerry Weaver on March 11, 1966.

Mary spent most of her career as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Corry Memorial Hospital. She delivered countless babies and one of her greatest joys was having one of her “former moms” give her updates on their babies. Mary was a substitute nurse at Clymer Central School while her daughters attended as well. Mary was involved with her church. Being the choir director for many years as well as the head of the prayer chain. She was also a Girl Scout leader for many years at the Clymer School.

Mary is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jerry Lee Weaver. She is further survived by her daughters: Cynthia Meyers (John Valduga) and Constance Weaver; granddaughters: Nichol (Alex) Hannold and Hailee Meyers (Ty Berringer) and her great-grandsons: Rexton Bolvin, Jackson and Layne Hannold and Weston Berringer. Mary is also survived by close friends: Sue Neckers, Judy Fardink, Joanne Wiggers and Sue Todd among other church family. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Viola, Herbert, William, George and Gertrude.

Mary’s family would like to recognize and thank her caregivers: Stacie Allen, who always knew the best way to comfort mom, as well as her dear friend and companion Robin Bal. In addition, she was lovingly cared for by Brenda Young and Theresa Nichols. The family also wishes to thank Heartland Hospice for their love and care while helping with mom’s transition.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the North Clymer Community Church, 7795 NY Rt. 474, North Clymer, NY beginning at 10am with a service to follow at 1pm. Interment will be at Clymer Center Cemetery. A funeral luncheon at the Dutch Village Restaurant in Clymer will follow the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Clymer Community Church, The Alzheimer’s Association, 110 W. 10th Street, Erie, PA 16501 or Heartland Hospice, 719 Indiana Drive, Erie, PA 16505.
