Martha E. Armstrong
Martha E. Armstrong, 84, of Falconer passed away Monday (January 27, 2025) at the Magnolia Rest Home, Frewsburg with her daughters Sue and Sally by her side.
She was born February 28, 1940 in Bradford, PA, the daughter of the late Howard Sherwin and Dorothy Winship Sherwin Whalen LaRoy.
She was married to Larry Armstrong, the love of her life for 60 years.
Martha attended Salamanca High School and prior to retirement was employed by the former Truck-Lite in Falconer for 28 years. While employed at Truck-Lite she served as Union Steward, Vice President, and President for one year for Local Union 2495. Martha loved negotiating for her fellow co-workers.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending their sporting events and activities, gardening, and bowling.
Surviving are two daughters: Sue (Al) Cowen of Kennedy, Sally (John) Raymond of Frewsburg; two daughter-in-law’s: Tanettee Armstrong and Melanie Armstrong O’Rourke both of Ohio; six grandchildren: Stephanie Armstrong, Corey (Alex) Raymond, Bobbi-Sue (Dakota) Roller, Kimberly (Kevin) Gustin, Shawna (Austin) Alonge, Karlie (Barret) Bender; six great grandchildren: Elianna and Kaia Vazquez, Laiken and Brinley Gustin, Nash Alonge, Rex Roller and Baby Alonge in July; a half-brother Keith LaRoy of Kennedy.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Larry R. Armstrong whom she married March 1, 1958 in Salamanca, who died December 21, 2018; two sons Michael Armstrong on July 1, 2015, Kelly Armstrong on December 3, 2024 and a sister Norma Pavlock.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Ron Lemon will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Levant Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
