Marietta J. Davison
Marietta J. (Foti) Davison, 91, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, at Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
She was born April 16, 1933, in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Destro) Foti.
Marietta was a 1950 graduate of Jamestown High School.
She was an avid card player, destined to overcome the most skilled Canasta players. “The Golden Girls” comedy series provided evening humor throughout her golden years, and her Avon business ensured her connection to friends and family and supported one of her greatest pleasures – to consistently bless others with gifts. She was a shining example of devoted motherhood. Marietta showered her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with unconditional love and provided a warm home and gathering place for family and friends where so many precious memories were made.
Her life was dedicated to her Savior, Jesus Christ, and nurtured through her years of worship at Brooklyn Heights United Methodist Church and Praise Fellowship in Russell, PA. Her Christian faith was contagious and spread throughout her whole family. Marietta loved to worship and praise her Savior. She now stands in His holy presence to worship Him forever.
Before her retirement, she worked as a home health aide for Accredited Care Inc. In her younger years, she was employed by GMA and Utica Mutual Insurance.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Chester “Chet” Davison whom she married June 14, 1952, and who died April 4, 1986. They enjoyed a thriving social and family life.
Surviving are her three children David Davison of Lakewood, Doreen (Michael) Brokaw of Brooksville, FL, and Daniel (Darla) Davison of Kennedy; grandchildren: Jessica Watson, Joel (Carrie) Davison, Vanessa (Ryan) Attuso, Alicia (Robert) Dasch, Andrea (Brandon) Sparks, Aaron Davison; great-grandchildren Chris, Kaitlynn, MacKenzie, Annelise, Silas, Sophia, Sicilia, Robert, Lillian, Theodore, Tyrell (Taylor), Jorden, Natahlya, Tiana, Brelyn; great-great-grandchildren Henry, Shaya, Bellamy, and Kaleeya; sisters/brother Sally Galati, Dr. Anthony M.
