Lori Beth Mistretta

Lori Beth Mistretta

Lori Beth Mistretta, 48, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025. A lifelong Jamestown resident, she was born on Nov. 27, 1976, to David Wayne and Robin Warn Keefe.

Lori graduated from Southwestern Central High School and achieved her bachelor’s degree in education. She married her high school sweetheart, Dario and together they created a loving home in which she remained a devoted wife and mother. Lori loved her husband and three children to no end.

Lori had a passion for the outdoors, bike riding and hiking. Some of her favorite times were spent at their family camp. Family was the focus of her life. She had many loving friends who loved her and she loved them.

Always putting others before herself, Lori was a helper to everyone; certainly, she was the first to reach out and to be fully present for others. Her faith remained the center of her being through every season of her life. Lori’s final words to her children echoed her spiritual convictions: “to be who you are and to draw close to God.”

Lori had a strength and calmness that could only come from her relationship with God, which was very apparent in her last months. Her lifetime devotion to the Lord and children led her to be an active member and teacher of her local LEAH homeschool group.

Her spirit will continue to guide her husband, Dario Mistretta; her children, Corbin, Kaitlyn, and Cayden Mistretta; her sister, Amber (Steve) Duncan of North Carolina; her brother, Jeremy (Jen) Keefe of North Carolina; her mother, Robin (Richard) Cauvel of North Carolina; her step-brother, Adam Cauvel of North Carolina; her mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Shannon (Quinn) Harris of Jamestown; many aunts and uncles; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her father, David Wayne Keefe, who passed away March 27, 2021, Lori was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Francis “Pucky” Mistretta, who passed away Dec. 30, 2020, and her grandmother, Dawn Keefe, who passed away Jan. 11, 2024.

The memorial service for Lori will be at 3 pm on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at New Beginnings Baptist Church, Kennedy, NY. Pastor Mike Herdzik will officiate. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1-3pm Thursday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Beginnings Baptist Church, 638 Route 394, PO Box 15, Kennedy, NY 14747, or to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750. The family would like to thank the Hospice staff for the care they provided to Lori.
