Karen S. Kelley

Karen Sue Kelley, 67, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025 at the Absolut Care of Westfield after a lengthy illness.

Karen Sue was born June 3, 1957 in Jamestown the daughter of Joan J. (Dennison) Schobey of Randolph. She was a 1975 graduate of Falconer Central School, Jamestown Community College and received her Bachelors of Science from SUNY Geneseo in 1979.

She retired from Bush Industries in Jamestown after 35 years of service as a Quality Control Inspector.

Her hobbies and interests included her love of traveling, attending many live concerts and shows. She was an avid crafter, and had done many of the crafts for family weddings and graduations that made these events beautiful. She loved her cats dearly.

She is survived by her loving mother Joan J. Dennison Schobey; step siblings Dan Schobey, Vicki Hitchcock, Nita Bingerman all of Randolph; and Eric (Judy) Schobey of Ellington, as well as many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather Roy Schobey, a brother Michael E. Kelley, and her birth father Howard E. Kelley.

As per Karen’s wishes, visitation will not be observed. A graveside service will be held at later date in the Kennedy Riverside Cemetery and will be announced. Arrangements are entrusted to the Van Rensselaer & Son Funeral Home, Randolph.
