Elsie V. Nordland

She was born on March 5, 1934 at home in Russell, PA, a daughter of the late Axel and Mary Sundell Gustafson.

After high school she attended and graduated from the WCA School in Nursing and worked as an RN prior to marrying her late husband, Theodore, and becoming a dedicated homemaker.

Elsie attended Wiltsie Community Church where she was an active member of the Ladies Aid Group.

She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, and reading her bible. Her Faith was very important to her.

Elsie is survived by her three sons: David (Jenny) Nordland of Kiantone, John (Lori) Nordland of Columbus, PA, Paul (Karyn) Nordland of Russell, PA; eleven grandchildren: Elizabeth, Luke, Joshua, Timothy, Johanna (Brittany), Michele (Jack), Isaiah (Joanna), Micah, Krysta, Josiah, Ezra; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Theodore H. Nordland, who passed away on January 6, 2019; a sister Phyllis Hendrickson; and a brother Raymond Gustafson.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 in Wiltsie Community Church, Russell, PA. Pastor Todd Venman will officiate. Burial will be in Swede Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday in the church.
