Carol J. Blose
Carol J. Blose, 81, peacefully entered the gates of heaven on Saturday, December 28, 2024. Carol was born on April 4, 1943, in Franklin, PA to parents Basil and Verna (Brown) King. As a young child, Carol and her parents moved to many different places for her dad’s work. Eventually, Carol, her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters moved to Conneaut, Ohio where she graduated high school in 1961.
Following her high school graduation, Carol moved to Jamestown, NY and started working. Carol and her husband, Harry, stayed in the Jamestown area and raised their 3 children in Busti. Carol’s primary and most important job was as a wife, homemaker and family manager throughout the years as her children grew up.
During her adult life, after raising her 3 children, Carol worked at Tops Markets, Key Bank and at the ERIE-2 Hewes Educational Center in Ashville, NY. Carol’s last job was working as a Special Education classroom teacher aide helping Special Needs students with learning and daily school activities. Carol retired from her position in 2010 to enjoy her many interests including quilt making, planting many flowers outside, attending weekly mass and helping with many church activities.
Carol attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lakewood NY for more than 40 years and was a past member of the Rosary and Alter Society. She, also, was a long-time member of the Chautauqua Quilt Club. Carol loved to spend time with her family and friends. One of Carol’s favorite things to do was to bake all the pies for the family Thanksgiving dinner every year, including apple, pumpkin and pecan. Carol’s most favorite time of year was the Christmas season and the Spirit of Christmas. She loved to buy many Christmas presents for family and friends, celebrate the joy of Christmas with a decorated tree, have many decorations put up all over the house and make homemade Christmas goodies to eat.
Surviving family members include 3 children: Darcey (David) Mitchell of Pensacola, FL, Todd Blose of Jamestown, NY and Michael (Terri) Blose of Shepherdsville, KY; 3 grandchildren: Kerianna Mitchell of Pensacola, FL, Cameron and Lauren Blose of Shepherdsville, KY; 1 brother Richard (Dawn) King, 1 sister Barbara (Denver) Spieldenner both of Conneaut, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol was proceeded in death by her parents Basil and Verna King, her husband Harry Blose, who died in July 2023; a brother James W. King and a sister Sandra L. Zilch.
Carol lived a life full of love, had a strong Catholic faith and a kind heart for family and friends. The happy times, family gatherings and many memories that were made throughout the years will forever remain in our hearts.
The family would like to thank Tanglewood Manor and the staff for giving our mom many happy days to do fun activities and meet new friends. The family is, also, very grateful for the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center staff, support team, doctors and nurses who cared for mom by making her comfortable and at peace during her last days on earth.
