Carol A. Smith

She was born on March 31, 1945, in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Vance and Mary (Hillard) Butts.

Carol was raised and educated in New York and graduated from Panama High School in1964. During high school, she met her now husband, Donald Smith. They married on Sept. 17, 1966, in Frewsburg, NY. She then stayed home to raise and care for her family.

She was a member of the North Clymer Community Church and enjoyed crocheting, crafting, yard work, collecting angels and spending time with family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Christopher Rettger and Joseph Wergzynowski; sister, Gloria Anderson and aunt, Lois Apatosh.

Carol is survived by her husband Don Smith; daughter, Annette Rettger of Jamestown, NY; son, Ken Wergzynowski of Cleveland, OH; two grandchildren, Chelsea (Will) Justice of Greenville, NC, and Daniel Manhart of Jamestown, NY, and two great-grandchildren, Damien and Xavier Justice of Greenville, NC.

Services will be held privately by the family.

Burial will be in Holland Cemetery, Clymer, NY.
