Anthony Vincent Colera

Anthony Vincent Colera

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony Vincent Colera, a cherished husband, devoted father, and beloved friend, who left us peacefully on January 3, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in Jamestown, NY, on December 8, 1936, Anthony lived a life marked by love, strength, and unwavering commitment to his family.

After graduating from Jamestown High School in 1954 and proudly serving in the Marine Corps, Anthony moved to San Diego, where he established a home filled with warmth and laughter. He married the love of his life, Ramona Deml, the kindest and most beautiful woman he had ever known, with whom he built a family. Anthony was blessed to be a father to his wonderful daughter, Tina, and his beloved son, Anthony Jr. He loved them deeply and dedicated himself to their happiness, always ensuring they felt supported and cherished.

After studying Pre Engineering Civil & Mechanical at San Diego City College, Anthony’s career as a Tool and Die Maker at the Naval Air Station North Island was a testament to his remarkable work ethic and dedication. Even after facing the challenges of degenerative joint disease at the young age of 39, he refused to allow his struggles to define him. Instead, he remained actively engaged in his family’s lives, coaching his son’s baseball teams, taking long motorhome vacations across the country, and creating countless treasured memories. Whether it was family movie outings, playing old 78s on the antique jukebox, breakfast after church services, or simple picnics at the park, Anthony made every moment count, ensuring his family’s joy took precedence in all he did.

A man of great integrity, respect, and compassion, Anthony had a passion for life that extended beyond his family. He enjoyed outings with the local convertible club, spent joyful mornings bowling, and relished trips to the casino. He was an avid sports fan, always cheering for local teams and enjoying the camaraderie that came from those experiences.

Anthony, also known to many as “Tony” or “Nino,” was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Vincent and Jenny Colera, and his brother, Salvatore.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Ramona, who held his heart, and his adoring children, Tina and Anthony (Nino) Jr., and a grandson, Aaron Quinn, who will continue his legacy of love and kindness.

In this time of profound loss, we remember Anthony not only for his many accomplishments but for the love he shared so freely and the countless lives he touched with his spirit. Until we are reunited, we say farewell to a remarkable man who will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, Anthony; your love will guide us always. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in memory of our beloved Anthony Colera.
