Ann F. Sardi

A woman who adored her family, Ann graduated from Jamestown High School in 1954 and married her beloved husband, the late Russell Sardi, on Nov. 17, 1956. Together, they raised their three children while, further, Ann committed over 30 years to upholding a parenting role to hundreds of children as a paraprofessional with Jamestown Public Schools.

Ann was the family historian; genuinely, she took to knowing not only people, but their relations to others and their whereabouts. Playing cards with her club girls every other Wednesday night was a favored event, as she valued the hours of chatter and games.

The Yankees may not ever encounter a more devout fan than Ann. Her fandom was huge and never wavered. Ann also enjoyed golfing and traveling over the years. Her canning of homemade Italian sauce will be remembered almost as prominently as the joy she took in preparing meals for family gatherings.

Ann will be deeply missed by her children: Sam (Elaine) Sardi, Shelly (Dave) Leathers, and Stephanie (Polly Lindberg) Sardi, all of Jamestown; grandchildren: Eric (Alexa Vazquez) Leathers of Pittsburgh, PA; Alyssa (Michael) Chapman of Marysville, OH; and Steven and Jesse Sardi of Jamestown; and her great-granddaughter, Lucy Chapman.

Besides her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Russell W. Sardi, on May 10, 2024; and her brother, Sebastian Paterniti.

The funeral service for Ann will be at 11 am on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at Lind Funeral Home. Reverend Don Watkins will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at Lind’s. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
