Alyce M. LeVoie
Alyce M. LeVoie, 91, of Brown Street, Jamestown, N.Y., passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at her residence.
Alyce was born on July 27, 1933, in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of the late William and Alice Matthews Hawkins.
She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1951 and attended Jamestown Business College.
Alyce worked at Lord & Taylor in NYC and Jamestown YWCA. She was a customer representative at Alltel Business Office and retired in 1983 after several years of service.
Alyce was an active member of New Creation Assembly of God and taught Bible study. She was a member of AGLOW International, Active with jail ministry in Chautauqua County, Ladies Kiwanis Organization, former board member of Jamestown Boys and Girls Club and EL Y ELLA Social Club.
Alyce was a seamstress on her own time and would make her own clothes. In her younger years she enjoyed going ice skating.
In addition to her parents, Alyce is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony S. LeVoie whom she married on April 17, 1960, at Blackwell Chapel AME Zion Church and who died on March 1, 1983; two sisters: Georgia Hawkins Ransom and Carol J. Funcell and a nephew: Parrish Michael Bethell (Allen).
Alyce is survived by a son: Anthony W. LeVoie of Providence, RI, a daughter: Stephanie LeVoie-Beatty and her husband Nathan of Jamestown, N.Y.; two sisters: Terrie J. Parker of New Mexico and Mary Jones of Washington, D.C., a brother: John R. Allen, Jr. of Hamburg, N.Y.; three grandsons: Nathan Beatty, Jr., Aaron Beatty and Marcus Beatty all of Jamestown, N.Y.; two great-grandsons: Remington Spencer Beatty and Amari Michael Beatty and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends may visit Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home, Inc., 316 E. 5th Street, Jamestown, N.Y. on Thursday from 5 to 7 PM. A service will be held on Friday at New Creation Assembly of God at 11 AM. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at church from 10- 11 AM.Rev. William Blair, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
