Paul W. Langebartel
Paul W. Langebartel, 77, of Maple Springs, NY and Englewood, FL passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, surrounded by loving family and friends.
He was born May 16, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Ralph and Anna (Niblock) Langebartel.
Paul was a 1965 graduate of Bemus Point High School. He attended JCC and Hobart College. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served in the Air Force from 1968-1972 as an Aircraft Radio Repairman, receiving many awards, including the Air Force Commendation Medal.
Paul worked for many years at Long Point and Allegany State Parks, retiring in 2003 as Regional Maintenance Supervisor for the Allegany Region. He still maintained his Allegany friendships at monthly breakfast get-togethers.
Paul was an avid hunter and fisherman throughout his life, and was a proud member of the NRA. He was a great cook who found joy in coming up with creative recipes. Paul was a master craftsman who could fix anything; from cars to building entire homes. He enjoyed woodworking, constructing models and trap shooting. He loved reading, fishing, and telling stories about growing up in Bemus Point. Most of all, Paul loved spending time with his favorite person in the world, his granddaughter.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Deborah (Haskin) Langebartel, his children Jonathan Langebartel, Leah Langebartel, and his beloved granddaughter, Emilia Emo. Also, his sister Kathie Regan, his sister-in-law Maureen S. Langebartel and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers John and David Langebartel and by his step-son Andrew White.
Paul’s funeral service will be held at 11AM Friday, December 6th at the Falconer Funeral Home, 44 W Falconer St, Falconer, NY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 PM to 8PM on Thursday, December 5th and one hour prior to the funeral service Friday. Burial will be at Bemus Point Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Chautauqua County Hospice, the NRA or a charity of one’s choice.
