Maxine C. Nelson
Maxine C. Nelson, 92, of 165 Aldren Avenue, formerly of Forest Avenue Extension, died Monday December 16, 2024, in UPMC Chautauqua.
A Jamestown resident all her life, she was born July 10, 1932, a daughter of the late Axel Carlson and Pauline Johnson Carlson Larson.
She was a 1950 graduate of Jamestown High School.
She was a secretary at various businesses including Malleable Iron, Bank of Jamestown, and Dr. Marcus Connelly. Most recently she was associated with the family business Nelson Bros. Lumber and Millwork, as bookkeeper.
She was a lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she was confirmed and married and participated in the quilting guild. She was a past member of the Mozart Club.
Surviving are two children Thomas (Debbie) Nelson of Jamestown and Mary (Bill) Bouck of Toledo, OH; three granddaughters Kristine (Charles) Ritzler of Aurora, IL, Emily Nelson of Jamestown and Jennifer Bouck of NYC and a brother Brian (Nancy) Larson of Annapolis, MD.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles A. Nelson, whom she married August 30, 1952, and who died September 30, 1987, and stepfather Carl Larson.
The funeral will be held at 2 pm Saturday in Bethel Lutheran Church.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 1-2 pm Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church or Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, JHS Class of 1950 Scholarship Fund.
