Luther J. “Luke” Colburn Jr.
Conewango Valley _Luther J. “Luke” Colburn Jr., 77, Brown Road, Conewango Valley, NY, passed away, Friday (December 6, 2024) at the UPMC Chautauqua Hospital in Jamestown.
He was born October 9, 1947 in Gowanda, the son of the late Luther J. Colburn Sr. and Margaret F. (Park) Colburn. He was a graduate of Pine Valley Central School and was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving from January 2, 1968 to January 7, 1971.
Luke was a career, Coast to Coast Semi- Tractor Trailer driver, and worked for Petri Baking Company in Silver Creek for many Years. In earlier Years he worked for Ellington Hardwood and Firch’s Bakery in Jamestown.
He is survived by his wife; Brenda J. (Bias) Colburn, a daughter; Cheryl L. Scolton and a son, Frank Evan, both of Conewango Valley, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and three siblings, Sandra (Lee) Potts of Jamestown, Jerry Colburn of Randolph and Randy (Kathy) Colburn of Cherry Creek.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Luther Sr. and Margaret and a daughter Michelle Sherman on December 11, 2021.
As per Luke’s wishes there will no visitation or public services observed. He will be laid to rest in the Cherry Central Cemetery in Cherry Creek, NY with full Military Honors. Arrangements are entrusted to the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph.
