Harry W. “Hal” Conarro Jr.

Harry W. Conarro Jr, 93, a resident of Warren, PA, died on December 13, 2024 in his home on Liberty Street in Warren, PA of natural causes.

He was born in Warren on September 13, 1931, the son of the late Eleanor and Harry W. Conarro, Sr. Hal was a lifelong resident of Warren and a 1950 graduate of the Hill School and of Dartmouth College in 1954. While at Dartmouth Hal met Bob Sokolski, his life-long friend and business partner at Whirley Drinkworks, which they founded in 1960. On December 22, 1956, Hal married the former Mary Edwards at her home in Hempstead, Long Island, NY who was his partner of 68 years.

Hal was a lover of golf and the Conewango Valley Country Club, duplicate bridge (Silver Life master), racquet sports, telling jokes, and his many dogs. He became a member of the Warren Jaycees immediately upon returning to Warren. He was a lifelong member of the Conewango Valley Country Club and the Conewango Club. He also had memberships in the Warren Elks Club, the Warren YMCA and proudly served his community over the years by giving to such organizations as the YMCA, Paws Along the River, and the Community Foundation of Warren County.

In addition to his parents, Hal was preceded in death by his sister Eleanor Voigt, her husband Bob and their children Matthew and Michael.

Hal is survived by his wife Mary, their five children, Charles W. (Jackie), Timothy E. (Kathy), Patrick R., Alec T. (Karen) and Mary Ann H. (Jeff) Carlson, fourteen grandchildren and step grandchildren; Morgan, Alexandra, McKenzie, Charles Jr., Kayla, Kimberly, Kyle, Ian, Madison, Justin, Seth, Courtney, Caitlin, Luke, and three great-grandchildren Grayson, Henry, and Jack.

Visiting hours will be held at Donald E Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 5 to 7 P.M. A Memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 300 Market Street, Warren, PA., on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Tara Eastman, Pastor, officiating. A reception to follow at the Conewango Club, 201 Market Street, Warren, PA., from 12 Noon until 3:00 P.M. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family in Oakland Cemetery, Warren, PA.
