Franklin J. Carlson
Franklin J. “Frank” Carlson, 84, of Frewsburg, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024 in his home.
He was born on May 13, 1940 in Warren, PA, a son of the late Everett and Geneva Moore Carlson.
Frank was a graduate of Jamestown High School and earned an associates degree from Jamestown Community College.
He was a veteran of the US Army where he graduated from Officer Candidate School while stationed at Fort Benning, GA. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ingjald Vikings Lodge #65, and a former member of American Legion Samuel L. Derby Post 556.
Frank was employed by the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities Water Division for many years, retiring in December 2001.
Frank is survived by his wife Lois A. Carlson Carlson, who he married May 29, 1962; a son Todd F. Carlson; a daughter Jodel L. Carlson; three grandchildren: Jada, Kayla, and Ashley Carlson; two great-grandchildren: Kameronn Smith and Keizer Carlson; a sister Judy (Jim) Rossing; and a brother Roger (Sally) Carlson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Jon S. Carlson, who passed away on Aug. 15, 2020; a grandson Jon Eric Carlson, who passed away in 1997; five brothers: Richard Carlson, Edwin Carlson, Arthur Carlson, Tom Carlson, Jerry Carlson; and a sister Shirley Anderson.
No visitation will be observed. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
