Elizabeth Ann O’Brien Brown
Elizabeth Ann O’Brien Brown died December 1, 2024, two weeks shy of her 90th birthday, after a fall and a brief illness.
Predeceased by her cherished siblings Richard, Jeannette, and Mary, she is survived by her husband of 61 years, Larry, her daughter Monica, son-in-law John, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
An Ithaca girl through-and-through, Betty spent many years loving its many creeks, gorges, and lakes. Her older sister introduced her to Larry, a Cornell student. After they married they lived in Syracuse and Watertown before settling in Jamestown for more than 50 years. Betty loved her house, and her neighbors who became friends.
An avid reader who was always ready to discuss current events, Betty was active with Literacy Volunteers and at Fletcher elementary school, and was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to the Jamestown Boys and Girls Club or Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County.
No calling hours; a private remembrance celebration will be held at a later date at the family’s convenience.
To honor Betty, please reach out to a friend to hear all their news, and spend time with a good book.
