Dolores Elaine Sisak

Dolores Elaine Sisak of Jamestown passed away on Monday, December 2nd at Heritage Park Rehab & SNF. She was born on December 11, 1929 in Jamestown, the only child of Hugo and Juliet Gronquist Youngquist. Dolores was a graduate of Jamestown High School and worked for several years after graduation as an executive secretary for the Art Metal Corp. On October 29, 1955, she married her husband, Peter Sisak, and they celebrated 62 years together.

Dolores, or Nana, as she was affectionately known, was an excellent homemaker. She loved having her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren over, especially for Sunday night dinners, Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. Whenever one of them was sick, she was happy to spend time playing board games and letting them win at least once! She was selfless, kind, patient and the best listener for so many. To know her was to love her.

She was a member and regular attender of SS Peter & Paul Church as long as she was able. Her faith in God and love for him and people were always evident. She enjoyed bird watching, reading, doing crossword puzzles and word finds and watching Jeopardy.

She is survived by a son, Darrell Sisak of Jamestown; two daughters, Karen (Daniel) Soderberg of Jamestown and Elaine (Fred) Mansfield of Hubert, NC, and a daughter-in-law, Lori Sisak of Jamestown. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Mandy (Chad Russell) Sisak; Chris (Melinda) Soderberg; Erin (Greg) Carlson-Smith; Sarah (Tim Wright) Sisak; Heather (Lee) Bernstein; Bret (Nicole) Sisak; Haley (Eric) Graham; and Mark (Jessica) Soderberg. She is survived by eleven great-grandchildren: MaeLynn, Kamryn, Everly, Harper, Colin, Riley, River, Corinne, Grant, Emma and Tate.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, who died January 27, 2018, a grandson, David Soderberg, and a grandson-in-law, Christian Carlson.

The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Park for the kindness and care that she was given over the last month.

Per Dolores’ wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside committal will be held at the convenience of the family, led by her son-in-law, Daniel Soderberg. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home, Inc., 316 E. 5th Street, Jamestown, N.Y. 14701. To light a candle or to send condolences to Dolores’s family please visit www.presentsixbeyfuneral.com.
