David D. Tidquist
David D. Tidquist, 82, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024. He was born in Jamestown on May 7, 1942, to the late Reinhold and Beatrice Tripp Tidquist.
A lifelong area resident, David overcame many obstacles in his early childhood and went on to live a life where he combined his magical artistic talent and love of music. He was the driving force behind many musical endeavors including countless shows at Joyce’s Keg Room, the Reg Lenna, and JCC along with his friend Julie Rockcastle to launch the Great Blue Heron music festival.
He brought people together through his music and his incredible artwork which has been seen around the globe. He was truly one of a kind.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Stacey (Richard) Richards of Augusta, Georgia; two dear friends, Jennifer Liuzzo and Vince Ognibene; grandchildren, Justin (Elena), Matthew, and Alexander; and great-grandchildren, Andrew and Zoe. He also leaves behind a brother, James, and sister-in-law, Sandra Tidquist, of Jamestown.
David was reclusive in his later years, but then he was always that way. In keeping with his wishes, no visitation or services will be observed.
There will be many celebrations of David’s life in the coming year as the music will go on.
Memorials in David’s memory may be made to St. Susan’s Center, 31 Water St., Jamestown, NY 14701.
