Concetta A. “Connie” Riolo
Concetta A. “Connie” Riolo, 89, of Jamestown, New York passed away in Henderson, Nevada after a trying battle with dementia on Sunday, December 22, 2024. She was born in Jamestown, New York on July 11, 1935, to the late Joseph R. and Laura Pascatore Trusso.
Connie was born and raised in Jamestown, New York, attended Jamestown High School and enjoyed working at Betty Dixon Candies in her youth; however, in following years, her spirit thrived off taking care of her family and home. A fantastic wife to her husband, Rig, Connie worked diligently to care for her children, Anthony, Della, and Mark. So, too, she remained dedicated to helping with the rehabilitation of her niece, Danielle Rosen. Connie enjoyed making Italian cookies for family gatherings and for St. James Church functions; further, she cherished making ceramics, roller skating, and dancing with her husband in her free time.
A woman of deep Catholic faith, Connie belonged to St. James Catholic Church for 85 years, staying true to the St. Joseph’s table and the Italian Festival each year. She volunteered for endless church functions until 2021, when Connie moved to Henderson, Nevada to reside with her daughter who was by her side in her passing.
Connie leaves behind a beautiful legacy including her children, Anthony (Tammy) Riolo of Florida, Della Riolo of Nevada, and Mark Riolo of Jamestown; grandchildren, Morgan Riolo of Florida, Jeremy (Brittany) Riolo of Florida, Micah Riolo of Buffalo, and Mateo Riolo of Jamestown; great-grandchildren, Dominic and Julianna Riolo of Florida; sister, Patricia (the late Merrill) Rosen of Jamestown; many nieces and nephews; alongside a treasured tribe of especially close friends who will still carry on the love and memories they shared.
Besides her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony “Rig” Riolo, whom she married September 1, 1956 and who passed away in 2005; sister, Cecilia (Harry) Blanchard; and brother, Joseph (Jane) Trusso, Jr.
The Memorial Mass for Connie will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at St. James Catholic Church. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery where Connie will be resting with her family including Anthony “Rig” Riolo, Nunzio and Della Scardamaglia Riolo, Nancy Jean Riolo, and Nancy Scardamaglia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
