Charles R. Giambrone Jr.
Charles R. Giambrone Jr., 73, of Randolph, formerly of Mayville, went home to his Lord and Savior, passing away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Heritage Green Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
He was born July 10, 1951, in Buffalo, the son of the late Charles R. Giambrone Sr. and Margaret (Melson) Giambrone.
Chuck attended Pine Valley Central School and at a young age, helped his parents and family with their business, Charlie’s Sea Foods in Athol Springs, NY. He later owned and operated Chuck & Mary’s Hot Dog Stand in Leon, NY, and Giambrone’s Seafood House in Mayville with his wife, Mary.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend. He was a past assistant Chief with the Leon Volunteer Fire Department, a Communicant of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Randolph, and a past member of the South Dayton Sons of the American Legion, Randolph Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, and St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Cherry Creek. Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends, boating, and enjoying life at every moment.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Mary J. (Hill) Giambrone, whom he married on October 9, 1970 in South Carolina, two sons; Michael A. (Deborah) Giambrone of Russell, Pa. and Charles J. Giambrone of Hershey, Pa., four grandchildren; Nicholas M., Michaela R., Charles R. III and Madison D. Giambrone. A step granddaughter; Meghan Fachetti, a brother; Paul (Audrey) Giambrone of Hamlet, NY., two sisters; Margaret (Thomas) Clarke of Dunkirk and Katherine (Alan) Rowley of Hamlet and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Charles Sr. and Margaret, a son; Adam Giambrone, twin granddaughters; Jacqueline and Cassandra, and his brothers, twin Thomas, and David Giambrone.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4-7 PM on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, December 27, 2024, at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Randolph. The Rev. Donald Watkins will serve as the Celebrant. The burial will be in the Treat Cemetery in Leon.
