Carson John Baker

Carson John Baker

Carson John Baker, 3, of Sherman, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024. He was born July 13, 2021, to Ryan Baker and Kayla Slaughenhaupt.

The happiest boy you’d ever meet will be remembered for his obsession with Paw Patrol. As soon as he developed an appreciation for TV, Carson wanted nothing more than to watch his favorite character, “Rubble,” on Paw Patrol.

Much the same, Carson adored puppies. While his favorite breed was bulldogs, he showed immediate giddiness any time he saw a puppy.

Carson’s constant smile lit up every room; further, his happiness always knew how to put a smile on everyone else’s faces.

Carson’s bubbly soul will be missed by his parents, Kayla Slaughenhaupt and Ryan Baker; his sister, Ava Baker; his grandparents, Jessica Grygier, Joshua Slaughenhaupt, David Baker, and Sandra LaKotta; his great-grandparents, Melinda Slaughenhaupt, Christa LaKotta, and Mike LaKotta; and his aunts and uncles, Gavin Didion, Gabe Didion, Amanda Evans, and Savannah Palmisano.

The family upholds Carson’s beloved “TT,” with whom he had an extremely close bond. Terri Seekings devotedly cared for Carson.

Carson was preceded in death by his favorite person, his great grandpa, Lawrence Baker; as well as his great-grandpa, Donald Slaughenhaupt, Jr.; and his cousin, Easton Slaughenhaupt.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 11 am to 1pm and from 3 to 5 pm on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024, at Lind Funeral Home. There will also be a benefit at the Sherman Fire Hall at 1 pm on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chautauqua Humane Society as an ode to Carson’s love for puppies.
