Barbara J. Shinn

Barbara was born on Dec. 12, 1940, in Warren, PA, to the late Harry and Nellie (Spencer) Lank. She was raised in Lander, where she attended the Lander School, then to Sugar Grove Elementary and Eisenhower High School. She went on to work at Whirley Industries in Warren, retiring in 1999 after 22 years. Barbara was a past Royal Matron of the Order of the Amaranth, and a former member of the O.E.S. Chapter No. 478.

She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Shinn; her daughters, Pamela Seybert of Warren and Paula (Michael) Melquist of Pittsfield; her step-children, Rhonda Wolfe of Warren, Sheila Pierson of Jamestown, and Donald E. Shinn Jr. of Youngsville; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her sister Patricia Burris; her brother Harry Lank; an infant daughter and her step-daughter, Donna Moore.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, from 4-7pm at Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St, Youngsville, PA 16371, and on Friday, Dec. 13 from 10-11am at which time a funeral service will be held there with the Rev. Jeff Canter, pastor of the New Life Church, officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
