Thomas M. Gustafson (Mike)

He was born April 2, 1960, in Jamestown, a son of the late Kenneth and Louise (Kolesar) Gustafson.

Prior to his retirement, he was a 40 year employee of Dawson Metal where he was a sheet metal worker. Mike would take pride in anything he worked on no matter how big or small the project was. He would make sure the job was done correctly and to his own golden standard.

Mike enjoyed all things in nature, and he would often spend his time birdwatching. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, collecting coins and playing cribbage with his dad, son, and best friend Jay. Mike was also an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills, Sabres, and Baltimore Orioles.

Anyone who had the pleasure to know Mike would tell you he was a great man who cared immensely for those in his life. Mike was always there for those that needed him without hesitation. He was a loving son, brother, father, and friend to many.

Surviving is a son Michael (Alyxandrea Schichtel) Gustafson of Brocton, NY; a sister Brenda (David) Cole of Kiantone, brother Kenneth R. Gustafson Jr. of Jamestown; niece Ashley Hughes of California; uncle Donald Gustafson of Ohio; lifelong friend Jay “Governor” Matteson of Celoron, and neighbor Caroline “Ma” Nelson of Kiantone.

Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his twin brother, Russell Gustafson.

There will be a celebration of life for Mike. Date and location is to be determined. No funeral service or visitation will be observed.
