Sydney (Syd) G. Farnham
Sydney (Syd) G. Farnham, 75, of Westfield, went to be with his loving wife Kathy of 52 years on November 14, 2024, after a brief illness.
He was a well-known grape farmer in the area for many years working for Roy Orton Farms and later for his “son he never had”, Evan Schiedel Farms. Most people recognized Syd because of his sideburns.
He was a member of the Lake Erie Regional Grape Program and the Chautauqua Co. Farm Bureau as well as having served in the US Army.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching Little League Baseball, College and NFL football and Nascar, but “there was never nothing good to watch.”
He is survived by his only child, Sheri (Dennis) Morgan, his grandson, Tyler (Amanda) Winkelmann and twin great granddaughters, Jolynn and BillieRose. He is also survived by his brothers, Billy, Tim (Laura), Kenny, Paul (Bev) and John Farnham and sisters Judy Palmer, Mary (Al) Smith and Patty (Ron) Wetzel. Surviving includes many other family and friends.
Syd was preceded in death by his loving wife and soulmate, Kathy, his sister Lynda, and parents, William and Geraldine Farnham.
Family and friends may call for visiting hours on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 3-7 PM at the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave, Brocton. In lieu of Flowers, donations suggested to Lake Erie Regional Grape Program, (LERGP) in Syd’s memory at 6592 W. Main St, Portland 14769 or Westfield Emergency Squad, 20 Clinton St, Westfield 14787.
A private military graveside service will be held at a later date.
