Daniel “Dan” Tony Roemer

Daniel “Dan” Tony Roemer

MAYVILLE- Daniel ‘Dan’ Tony Roemer, 72, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Absolut Care Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Westfield, NY. He was born October 17, 1952, in Westfield, NY, the son of the late Daniel and Antonia Littringer Roemer.

Dan was a member of the class of 1971 at Mayville Central School where he was affectionately nick-named “Turkey”. He earned an Associate’s in Business from the Sawyer School of Business in Pittsburgh, PA. He worked in furniture sales with the family business at Chautauqua Colonial Furniture in Mayville, for which he was very proud of. He later worked for Value City Furniture in Monroeville, PA.

He enjoyed sports cars, Harley-Davidson, playing pool and basketball, cheering for the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees, and was a dog lover. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was more than a devoted husband, father, and grandfather–he was a guide, a source of unwavering support, and a reminder of what it means to live a life grounded in love and purpose. His life was defined by his sacrifices, always placing his family’s needs above his own and showing his son, and everyone around him, what unconditional love truly looks like.

Daniel’s philosophy was simple yet profound: to give wholeheartedly to those he loved, to lead by example, and to embrace life with gratitude and joy. He taught through his actions that true success lies not just in achieving personal goals, but in helping others thrive. To his son, Daniel was a symbol of strength and selflessness, an enduring reminder of how to live with integrity, care, and intention.

He believed in the importance of family above all–of cherishing time with loved ones, simplifying life’s chaos, and focusing on what truly matters. He instilled the value of balancing hard work with the joy of simply being present, teaching that happiness is found not just in striving for more, but in appreciating life as it unfolds.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Tracy Nowell Roemer, whom he married July 1, 2011, a son, Justin (Amanda) Roemer of Murraysville, PA, two stepchildren, Brandon (Tara) Mitchell of Crofton, MD, and Carly (Alexander) Davis of Dewittville, NY, one grandson, Maiton Roemer, two step-granddaughters, three sisters, Inge Rowan, Erica Roemer, and Lucy (Ray) Head, and his two loyal dogs, Lindsey and Pippy. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Daniel leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration, reminding us to honor his memory by taking care of ourselves, nurturing our families, and leading lives filled with kindness, purpose, and joy.

At Daniels’s request, no public services will be observed. A private celebration of life will be held at the family’s convenience.

Memorial donations can be made to the Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue (7540 North Gale St, Westfield, NY 14787).
