Cloie A. Eddy

Cloie A. Eddy, 98, of Jamestown passed away Saturday (November 23, 2024) in her home.

She was born March 21, 1926 in Portville, NY, the daughter of the late Floyd and Erma Housler Blakeslee.

Cloie was a graduate of Salamanca High School and in earlier years was employed by Chautauqua Hardware. Prior to retirement Cloie along with her late husband Albert owned an operated a dairy farm on Panama Rocks Hill Road. Cloie also cleaned and opened many summer residences on Chautauqua Lake.

She was a member of the former Open Meadows United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons: Albert L. Eddy of Jamestown, Herbert P. Eddy of Dunkirk; four grandchildren: Lauri Eddy of Jamestown, Lonnie Eddy of Colorado, Paula Nufher of Alabama, Tammy Delahoy of Jamestown; eight great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; a brother Odis Blakeslee of Ellington; two sisters: Lelia Armstrong and Nina Farris both of Florida, and several nieces and nephews

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Albert J. Eddy whom she married May 19, 1944 in Ashville, NY, who died July 2, 2010; her son Clayton F. Eddy; a brother Vermont Blakeslee; two sisters: Meda Seekings and Dianna Tobin.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Ashville United Methodist Church, 2180 N. Maple St., Ashville. Rev. John Bowen will officiate. Burial will be in Open Meadows Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service Friday in the church.

Memorials may be donated to a charity of one’s choice.
