Clement J. “CJ” Vullo
Clement J. “CJ” Vullo, 63, of Ashville, died Friday November 15, 2024, in his home following a courageous and fierce battle with cancer.
He was born March 4, 1961, in Jamestown, a son of the late Clement and Norine Davis Vullo, Sr.
He was a 1979 graduate of Jamestown High School. Following graduation CJ moved to California to pursue his education at West Hills College, Coalinga, CA. He continued to relocate between California and Jamestown for a number of years until he met his wife and finally settled in Jamestown and built his life with his family. He was never shy about sharing his “California” stories. Anyone who spent any amount of time with CJ was, no doubt, entertained by his countless California stories.
Prior to his retirement in 2022, he was employed by the City of Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department.
He was a member of Busti Church of God and Lakewood Rod and Gun Club.
CJ’s happy place was what he referred to as “God’s country”: the woods. He enjoyed the outdoors through hunting, fishing, archery, boating and gardening. He was a skilled woodworker and built homes where he was known for his meticulous finish carpentry. A man of many talents, he will also be remembered for sharing his joy of barbecuing with many friends and family.
CJ was a man of great integrity and was strongly influenced by many of John Wayne’s philosophies. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. All who were privileged to know him enjoyed his numerous stories. Though he had many accomplishments throughout his life, the one that he was most proud of was his daughter. His legacy will continue to live on through Kiana.
Surviving is his wife Cynthia Gantz Vullo, whom he married September 3, 1995; a daughter Kiana Vullo of Ashville; siblings Charles Vullo of Buffalo, David (Judie) Vullo of Prescott, AZ, Laurene (Mark) Avino of Burke, VA and Richard Vullo of Jamestown; two nephews and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 2004 and his father in 2018.
The funeral will be held at 4 pm Sunday in Busti Church of God.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2-5 pm Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home.
