Sarah E. McMullin

She was born April 25, 1941, in Altoona, a daughter of the late Blair F. and Adelaine K. (Wolfkill) Kirby. She married J. Leroy McMullin on April 20, 1963, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Juniata. He preceded her in death September 16, 2005.

Surviving are four children, daughter Michelle M. Bame (Leon) of Manheim, son Stephen L. “Steve” McMullin of Altoona, son Brian C. McMullin (Maggie) of Etters, daughter Danielle L. Peterson (Jeff) of Falconer, NY; six grandchildren, Ashlie McMullin (Noah Bennett), Nick Gunter, Madisyn McMullin, Alex Peterson, Lucas McMullin- Peterson (Hailey), and Abigail McMullin; five great grandchildren, Eli, Brodie, Charlotte, Beau, and Henslee; sister Donna Davis of Kennett Square, brother Blair Kirby of Ocean View, DE, and sister Carol O’Donnell of Albrightsville; brother-in-law, Andrew McMullin of Altoona; and numerous extended family members.

Sarah was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Joseph McMullin.

She was a graduate of Chichester High School.

She was formerly employed at Balfurd Cleaners, State College for several years.

Sarah loved spending time with her entire family including her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed attending Zumba at the Groove, bowling, cooking, tending to her plants, music, trips to the beach, and she always enjoyed a good glass of merlot.

Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday October 3, 2024, and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Friday October 4, 2024, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday with Rev. Fr. Brian Norris officiating. Committal rites will be held graveside at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
