Gene Earl Jackson
Randolph — Gene Earl Jackson, 83, of Randolph, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family at his side at3:30 AM, Saturday, October 19, 2024.
Gene was born September 16, 1941 in Titusville, Pennsylvania, the son of the late; William H. and Inez B.(Eldred) Jackson.
He was a 1960 graduate of Townville High School in Townville, Pa. Moving to Randolph, he became co-owner with Robert Maus and Lloyd Bentley at the former Randolph Motors, where he was also the parts and service manager. He later formed Jackson Motors at the same location, and served many of his past and new clients with exceptional auto repair and service.
Gene was a life member of the Randolph Fire Company, where he received a 50 year service award, valor award for bravery, where he saved two people from a structure fire, past fire chief and served as the financial secretary for 30 years. He was a member of the Randolph Grace Episcopal Church, where he served on theVestry, Building Committee, assisted with the installation of the new cross, and helped with maintenance. He also was a former member of the Elibomwons snow mobile club in Randolph.
Family was everything to Gene, he attended many of his kids and grandkids sporting events and cherished spending time with both he and Liz’s families. A master handyman, he was always willing and able to help others. Gene enjoyed woodworking and carpentry, he was very proud of having built the home he and Liz reside in.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth A. “Liz” (Stillman) Jackson, whom he married on June 28,1963 in the Grace Episcopal Church, two sons; Daniel (Susan) Jackson of Randolph, Randall (Rita) Jack son of Lakewood, NY, five grandchildren; Darren (Kristen) Jackson of Orchard Park, Nick (Kari) Jackson of Jamestown, Benjamin (Tesla) Jackson, of Kennedy, Zach (Jessica) Jackson of San Clemente, Ca. and Sabrina(David) Everts of Henrietta, NY, 9 great grandchildren, two brothers, Terry Jackson of Ripley and Dennis(Judy) Jackson of Portsmouth, Va., as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Inez, siblings, William, Richard and Robert Jackson, Marlene Campbell and Marjorie Breads.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 to 6:45 PM, Friday, (October 25, 2024) from the Van Rensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph. A fireman’s service and bell ringing will be held at 6:45 PM Friday in the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday in the Grace Episcopal Church, 21 Washington Street, Randolph. The Rev. Collen O’Conner, pastor, will preside over the service. The Most Rev. Thomas Broad will deliver the message. Burial will follow in the Randolph Cemetery.
