Cynthia “Cyndi” Mistretta Montini

Cynthia “Cyndi” Mistretta Montini

Cynthia “Cyndi” Mistretta Montini, 68, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. She was born January 4,1956 in Jamestown to Rosemary Sinatra and the late Joseph F. Mistretta.

Cyndi graduated from Jamestown High School in 1973 and took pride in helping to coordinate class reunions over the years. She received her associate’s degree from Jamestown Community College before attending West Virginia University and spent her career in accounting and bookkeeping with Robo Enterprises.

A fun-loving spirit remembered for her sweet nature, Cyndi loved traveling and cherished the moments she spent with friends and family in Florida, Cape Cod, and The Outer Banks. She enjoyed good wine, a dry martini, and a little bit of whiskey shared with her ‘people.’

Cyndi was a devoted friend and will be remembered for the many lasting relationships she built over the years. Among these were her beloved “Gal Pals” — a special group of lifelong friends with whom she created precious & invaluable memories. Their trips together were among the highlights of Cyndi’s life.

She loved her family and was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, stepmother, sister, grandmother, and aunt, always hosting holiday gatherings and opening her home to those she loved. In every instance, Cyndi was the life of the party, and her smile lit up every room she walked into.

She leaves behind her husband, Michael Montini; mother, Rosemary Mistretta; daughters: Ali (Casey) Panebianco Digirolamo and Karli (Michael) Panebianco DiLaura; stepchildren: Kristy (Dusty) Carlson, Anthony (Jacquelyn) Montini, and Brittany (Wilson) Brandt; grandchildren: Max and Lucie Digirolamo; Nico DiLaura; Drew, Jack, and Michael Carlson; and Mason Montini; sisters: Joy (John) Mistretta Hurst and Laurie (Bruce) Mistretta Stanton; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the dedicated nurses who so thoughtfully cared for Cyndi during her treatment and care at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo. The family would also like to thank Sharon Gollnick for the friendship and support she provided to everyone throughout Cyndi’s journey.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, September 6, 2024, at St. James Catholic Church. Rev. Paul Cygan will be celebrant. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the mass from 9-10am at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, 1095 NW 14th Terrace, Lois Pope LIFE Center, Miami, FL 33136 or online at themiamiproject.org.
