Roger E. Johnson

He was the husband of the late Marilyn Morgan Johnson whom he married April 11, 1953 and who died January 7, 2013.

A Jamestown native, Roger was born October 4, 1929, a son of the late Carl E. and Emma E. Larson Johnson, and was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School. He then served in the US Army from 1948 to 1951 and was the proud recipient of a Bronze Star.

For 38 years, he was employed by Alltel, retiring as a plant manager in 1989.

Roger enjoyed fixing and ‘tinkering’ with vintage cars, including a Porsche, Jaguar and an Austin Healey. He also liked auctions and sales and collecting banks.

Surviving are his two daughters, Lori (Mark) Nystrom and Beth Johnson, both of Jamestown; and a nephew, Craig (Deb) Johnson of Wetumpka, AL.

Along with his wife Marilyn, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard E. Johnson.

A private family service will be held. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in Lake Vie Cemetery.
