Kathleen R. Schrader Stuart

Kathleen R. Schrader Stuart of Lakewood, NY was Promoted to Glory on July 8, 2024. She was born April 12, 1935, in Buffalo, NY to Raymond and Christine Booth Schrader. She graduated from Wyoming Central High School, Le Roy, NY in 1953.

Following graduation, she married John R. Stuart Jr. on Sept. 12, 1953. They had four children Tina (David) Dunham, Erie, PA, John R. (Penni) Stuart III, New Boston, NH, Jennifer (Dennis) Maze, Sugar Grove, PA, and Alma (Paul) Cain, Wilmore, KY. She had 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband John, as well as her brother Victor Schrader and sister Rae Carlson.

She was a soldier (member) of The Salvation Army in Jamestown, NY for 52 years holding various local leadership positions. She was the matriarch and preacher for The Stuart Family music ministry for over 30 years. The Stuart Family traveled extensively throughout the eastern United States, as well as to Canada, Dominican Republic, and Venezuela. Their ministry combined preaching the Good News and sharing Southern Gospel Music.

Kathy was employed by the local telephone company for over 30 years: first as a switchboard operator and later as a frame worker with AllTel. In retirement, she was active in the Lakewood-Busti Senior Citizens and volunteered at the WCA Hospital in Jamestown, NY.

She enjoyed knitting, quilting, sewing, and reading. She loved to interact with other people while telling them about the exploits of her children and grandchildren. Most of all, she loved telling others about Jesus.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her brother, Raymond Fredrick Schrader (Texas), her sister-in-law, Bonnie Stuart (Warren, PA), many nieces and nephews, and many others she loved as her own.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Salvation Army, 83 S. Main St., Jamestown, NY on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11 am. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 am.
