Bruce B. Isaacson

Bruce B. Isaacson
Bruce Bernard Isaacson, 82, of Columbus, Indiana was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 10, 2024.
Bruce was born Feb. 3, 1942, in Jamestown, NY to the late Yngve and Alice Isaacson. He attended Jamestown High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a radioman where he acquired skills and knowledge that prepared him for his subsequent career in the telephone industry. He worked for the Jamestown Telephone Company and Automatic Electric Company before going into business for himself for over 30 years. His contracting business, JM Bruce, Inc., installed and repaired sophisticated switching equipment for major telephone corporations in the northeastern United States. In his later years, Bruce worked as a bus driver for Bemus Point Schools and greatly enjoyed his friends in Ham Radio clubs in Chautauqua County. Bruce could always be counted on to fix any technological or electrical problems his friends or family encountered.
Bruce’s life found new meaning on Jan. 2, 1965, when he married his soul mate, Jeanne Mae Baxter. They enjoyed every moment together, whether they were boating, traveling or sitting on their front porch watching the sunset. Bruce and Jeanne had rock solid faith in Jesus, and we are certain they are together forever, watching the sunsets from Heaven’s front porch.
Bruce is survived by three children, Brent (Valory) Isaacson of St. Louis, MO, Todd (Brooke) Isaacson of Jamestown, NY, and Sherrie Byrd of Rocky Mount, NC; six grandchildren, Emily Isaacson of Tampa, FL, Holland, Elin and Lacey Isaacson of Jamestown, NY, Jayme Byrd Langley and Hailey Byrd of Nash County, NC; and a sister, Paula (Tim) Pickup of Columbus, IN.
Besides his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanne Mae, who died Oct. 1, 2006, and an infant brother.
Per Bruce’s wishes, no visitation or funeral services will be observed. A private inurnment at Sunset Hill Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
The family encourages memorials to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 East 17th St., Columbus, IN, 47201 whose nursing staff rendered very kind and effective care to Bruce.
