Myrtle LaVon Cady Tryon, 94, of Clymer, NY, passed away Tuesday June 11, 2024 at the UPMC Hamot. Myrtle was born February 18, 1930, daughter of Jennie Frances Legters and Ervin William Cady. Raised in Clymer,

Myrtle graduated from Clymer High School. Following high school Myrtle went on to beauty school in Buffalo. She was employed at Marie Scarry Beauty Shop in Jamestown until opening her own salon in her home in Clymer. A talented seamstress, Myrtle loved giving her knitted creations as gifts to family and friends, as well as wearing them herself. While busy with her business and raising her family, she was active in the community as a member of the Clymer Vol. Fire Dept. Women’s Auxiliary and with Brownies and Girl Scouts. Myrtle was a longtime member of the Abbe Reformed Church where she was active in Bible Study and Sunday school.

A caring and kind hearted woman, Myrtle was considered as the “Rock of the family” and a surrogate mother to many in the Clymer and Findley Lake area.

Above all she loved her family. The consummate fan, she especially enjoyed attending her grand- children’s sporting events and performances.

Known as “Auntie Myrtle” to her nieces and nephews, she loved them all and she was beloved by them.

Myrtle is survived by her 2 daughters: Roxanne (Robert) Baker, of Erie and Candace (Jerome) Magraw, of Erie; grandchildren: Mikaela Brown (Ty Murdaugh), Kendra Brown, Marie, Julie and Mitchel Magraw;

Besides her parents, Myrtle is predeceased by her husband, Everett Tryon; her daughter, Denise; siblings: Mildred Cady Wiggers, Geneva Cady Wiggers Schreurs, Henry Cady and Merle Cady.

Calling hours will be held at the Abbe Reformed Church, 595 Clymer-Sherman Rd., Clymer on Friday 4-6pm, at Saturday from 10-11 am, where a memorial service will follow at 11 am.
