Joseph A. Pollino Jr.

Joseph A. Pollino Jr., 90, formerly of 995 Hunt Road, died Sunday June 23, 2024, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing.

A lifelong Jamestown resident, he was born April 26, 1933, a son of the late Joseph and Julia Ferra Pollino, Sr.

He was a 1952 graduate of Jamestown High School, received a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University, a master’s degree from New York University in 1962 and teaching credentials in Physical education from Cal State LA University in 1964.

From 1956-63 he served in the US Marine Corps.

Prior to his retirement he was employed as the area director for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. His work had him traveling all across the country for the Boys Club.

He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church.

Surviving are two daughters Linda (Alex) Moreo of Fontana, CA and Cheryl (Michael) Rieser of Columbus, OH; grandchildren Alexander Moreo, Thomas Moreo, Esther Rieser and Anthony Rieser and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marilyn Petersen Pollino; six brothers Angelo, Frank, Guy, Richard, John, and Samuel Pollino and a sister Laura Battaglia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Friday in St. James Catholic Church.

Friends will be received from 4-6 pm Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home.
