This is Your Life (Sarah’s Song)
In 1925 you arrived. You and your baby brother both survived.
In 1925 your brother died but you remembered him all your life
In 1932 headed off to school.
You liked to laugh and play and break the rules but in 1941 there was work to be done
Got a job in the factory, you were so young
In 1952 a Swede with eyes so blue
Caught you by surprise, he said I love you
In 1954 you married Eric Thor
You both walked right though that open door
1958 it started great. The sweetest baby girl, time to celebrate but eight days after the child, she was born
Your dad’s heart gave out, it was time to mourn
Chorus: This is your life. Joy and some strife
In 1962 a child born to you,
eleven pounds of precious baby blue
In 1963 you moved away, bought your first house with money saved
In 1975, 50 years alive. We partied like it was 1999.
Two years after that we all cried when that plane went down and took your brother’s life.
Chorus: This is your life. Joy and some strife
When it’s your time to go, I want you to know
You lived a life that was so full and bright
And everyone you knew, loved and valued you
I hope you don’t regret a single night
In 1998 it was time to wait
The cancer had come back, it was caught too late When 2000 came Dad lost his fight
He took his last breath that August night
In twenty one-five, 90 years alive
Through all those faithful years you survived
I don’t know when it will be your day
But when the time comes I hope we celebrate
This is your life. Joy and some strife
This is your life. Joy and some strife
