Karla Agnes Jackson
Karla Agnes Jackson, 85, of Ripley, NY left her husband’s side and stepped into the waiting arms of her Savior, Jesus on February 20, 2024.
She was born on December 18, 1938 in Alexandria, VA, the daughter of the late Edward Jones and Karla Henderson Jones Cash.
Karla was a 1958 graduate of Annandale High School, VA. She married her husband of 66 years, Terry H. Jackson on December 20, 1957 at the Andrews Air Force Base Chapel in Suitland, MD. They settled in the Ripley, NY area in the 1960’s and raised a family there.
Karla operated the Montgomery-Ward catalog store in Westfield for a number of years along with her husband, and she retired from the Welch’s Distribution Center after 23 years of service as a Shipping Agent.
Karla’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family and serving her church family at Lakeshore Assembly of God. She left a lasting impression on all who were touched by her kind and gentle spirit as a Sunday school teacher, greeter, hospitality worker, and mission’s coordinator. She was an avid reader, painter, flower gardener, and maintained a beautiful collection of houseplants. Her grandchildren’s favorite dessert was her chocolate eclair cake made for family reunions!
Besides her husband, surviving are her children Karla Lea (Robert) Halbohm of Ripley, Kristine Slagle of Lee’s Summit, MO, David (Patricia) Jackson of Littleton, MA, Douglas (Kelli) Jackson of Cary, NC, and Donald (Krista) Jackson of Zanesfield, OH, 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
